Merieux NutriSciences acquired Chelab

Merieux NutriSciences, part of the Institut Merieux, has broadened its international presence by its acquisition of Italian Chelab. This acquisition strengthens Mérieux' position in Europe in the field of food security and gives access to a big potential for innovation in chemistry.

Chelab employs 650 people and has a turnover of €45 million ($59 million). Mérieux NitriSciences, specialised in food safety, registers a turnover of €450 million ($590 million), employing 4,800 people worldwide. This takeover follows seventeen other deals closed since 2007.
