Procter & Gamble (P&G) has announced that it is to introduce a new sales and distribution concept in Germany for its pet food brands "Eukanuba" and "Iams” from 1 January. The company will assume responsibility for the OSB (order, shipping and billing) function and for key account management.
P&G stresses that its German distributor Nash & Nunki will continue to play an important role as a service provider in the new sales and distribution set-up. The company will continue to be responsible for looking after pet product retailers and for trade marketing. P&G hopes the new concept will support the positive development of the "Eukanuba" and "Iams” brands, because the working relationship with its business partners will be closer in the future.
Lars C. Ortlieb, communications manager for the pet division at P&G, says: "The new strtuctures make it possible to get closer to the customers and to utilise the respective strengths of P&G and Nash and Nunki even more effectively. They will enable us to react more quickly to trends in the market, understand our customers better and develop tailored solutions for the speciality trade accordingly.”
