Brazil’s MBRFBegins Wet Pet Food Exports to the United States

Oct 18, 2026

Brazilian pet food business MBRF Pet has begun exporting wet pet food to the United States as part of its international expansion strategy, according to reports citing company executive Stanley Andrade.

The company plans to enter the US market gradually, initially focusing on wet food to build brand awareness and retail distribution before potentially introducing dry pet food produced in Paraguay. MBRF Pet has not announced a specific US sales target.

The company currently serves 20 international markets, up from 15 two years ago, and aims to expand to 26 markets by the end of 2027. Its overseas sales grew 18% in 2026 at the time of the report, with international business accounting for nearly 20% of the pet food division’s revenue.

Two of its five production facilities are authorised to supply the US market: one in Bastos, Brazil, and another in Doctor Juan León Mallorquín, Paraguay.

For international buyers and distributors, the development highlights a Brazilian supplier’s gradual entry into the US market and the potential role of regional manufacturing in future product expansion. However, the company has not disclosed expected US sales volumes or a timetable for introducing dry food.

The move adds the United States to MBRF Pet’s broader international growth plans, with market expansion and higher-value products among its stated priorities.
