At the delegates’ conference of the German Zentralverband Zoologischer Fachbetriebe in Hamburg, Norbert Holthenrich was unanimously re-elected as president. He said he would be focusing in future on continuing to implement structural reforms as well as being involved in the lobbying and publicity work of the association. Jörg Lefers, managing director of the pet food manufacturer Allco Heimtierbedarf, was also unanimously elected treasurer on the executive committee. The previous incumbent, Hans-Jochen Büngener, who remains chairman of the Interzoo fair committee, did not put himself forward for re-election.
In the election of vice-presidents, the delegates voted for a second term for Ralf Grützner, a partner in Zooma Zoofachmarkt Beteiligungs GmbH and MD of Zoo-Hoppe, and Bernd Silbermann, proprietor of the Silbermann pet store in Lebach. Ute Klein, chairwoman of the occupational group responsible for salon pet care, was also re-elected vice -president in her absence.
