Monoshield Equine is a Novel Dietetic supplement targeting gut health. It is developed by Mayo Healthcare Ltd in conjunction with the National University of Ireland. They conducted trials on race horses with ulcers. These results are listed in the US Patent 12,311,014. We do not claim to resolve ulcers but we support the gut health of the horse.

Monoshield equine granules are very palatable and come in 1kg , 3kg & 5kg. They can be fed on their own or on top of feed. If applied to feed it must be yeast free feed. The reason being that it is a ROS ( Reactive Oxygen Species) and requires oxygen to work and yeast removes the oxygen. It must be fed at a different time to yeast based feeds.
Monoshield equine Foal wean master is a liquid product targeting foals , particularly at weaning and sales pre. A recent weight gain study showed a 29% weight advantage on foals weaned in a thoroughbred breading farm. The control group has foals that lost considerable weight from the stress of weaning, where the Monoshield group maintained the targeted growth and weight expectations.

The science behind the product is Iodophor technology which create a hostile environment for the negative bacteria in the gut allowing the good gut bacteria to thrive. Specifically, Monoshield disrupts the lactic acid bacteria which is known to aggravate ulcer and suppress appetite.
