Next, place it into the outlet to prevent spillage. 2. Holding the top of the unit, slowly place it into the aquarium. Water will begin to flow in through inlets 1 & 2 on the upper sides of the unit. When water flows above the water-filled conduits, you can read the specific gravity on the inside scale. B. CONTINUOUS USE: 1. Submerge the hydrometer approximately 15 cm (5.9 in.) below the water's surface. 2. Recommended specific gravity should read 1.020-1.023 for most marine aquariums. You must add Marinemix when below this level, or add fresh water if above this level
