PAI Partners, a French private equity company based in Paris with seven international offices, has reached agreement with the American risk capital firm J.H. Whitney Capital Partners regarding the acquisition of the pet food manufacturer Alphia. The deal has been reported by several media outlets in the pet sector.
Based in Denver, Alphia is regarded as a leading national pet food manufacturer in the USA. It turns out more than a billion pounds of dry food and treats annually for leading pet food brands and retailers. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. With PAI’s support, Alphia intends to accelerate its growth in North America.
J.H. Whitney acquired Alphia’s predecessor firm C.J. Foods in 2014. Alphia was formed in 2020 by the merger of American Nutrition and C.J. Foods.
