Thai Union Group subsidiary i-Tail Corporation has established a new brand in the United States that will lead the company’s pet food business in the country.
The new company has been funded with $5 million (€4.43M) and will acquire a premium pet food seller and distributor US Pet Nutrition, owned by Thai Union North America since 2010.
The group believes that the new investment represents a significant move for the company’s pet care business and that it will contribute to “the company’s fast-growing pet food business.”
“The establishment of i-Tail Americas will give us greater flexibility in managing our business as both domestic and global markets are growing strongly,” said CEO Roy Chan.
In the first half of 2021, the Bangkok-based group posted THB11,209 million (€296.2M / $334.9M) in sales in the pet care business. This represented a 16.4% increase against the same period of 2020.
