The Plaček Group continues to grow strongly, even in the time of the coronavirus. The dynamic company, which is the market leader in the Czech Republic's pet supplies trade with its brand Super Zoo, has now acquired Zoo Buddy Shop/Best Zoo, the fifth largest chain of pet shops in the Czech Republic. It will convert the eleven shops to the Super Zoo format by the end of May 2021. Two of them, the outlets in Jablonec nad Nisou and Choce¨¾, have already been taken over.
Zoo Buddy Shop/Best Zoo previously operated five shops in retail parks and six shops in supermarkets and hypermarkets of the food store operator Tesco.
The former owner of Zoo Buddy Shop/Best Zoo, Štepán Kučinka, is also a manufacturer of Peritto snacks for dogs and cats. His factory is located in the Czech Republic. As the Kučinka family wants to concentrate and invest more in the growth of Peritto snack production in the future, the company has decided to sell its pet shop chain Zoo Buddy Shop/Best Zoo.
The Plaček Group and Peritto Snacks have agreed to work closely together and have also reached a strategic agreement on the production of snacks for the Plaček Group's own brands. It is very important for the Plaček Group that the manufacturer is located in Europe, which ensures a safe and stable delivery of the products.
