This all did finally not lead to succes, Continentale is facing a bankruptcy now. One of the main reasons of the bankruptcy has been the loans on the balance sheet.

Two potential take over parties: C&D Foods and United Petfoods Producers got the opportunity from the Tribunal the Commerce to offer their plan of incorporating Continentale Nutrition. Last Friday the judges decided that C&D Foods is the preferred party. With this decision C&D Foods is the biggest private labeler pet food producer in Europe.
