Zooplus recorded sales of €208 million ($235 million) in the first quarter of this year, an increase of around 26% over the same period last year. The company reported good progress especially in its core segment of pet food. "Sales were increased by 31% for sustained growth in the key food segment," said Cornelius Patt, Board Chairman at Zooplus AG.
Zooplus is focusing entirely on sales growth in later quarters of the year also. It is targeting sales of at least €875 million ($987 million), according to Patt. This would equate to an increase of 23% compared with 2015.
