Backer''s Total Pet Expo Attendance Down From a Year Ago

Backer's 2014 Total Pet Expo Fall Trade Show saw a dip in its numbers from a year ago, but the annual Chicago event—a pet industry staple—retains an important place in the pet industry.

The show took place Sept. 19 to 21 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., and saw more than 5,600 registered pet industry buyers, representing 1,742 companies, traipsing up and down its aisles in search of the latest and greatest pet products, foods and treats.

There were 288 pet-related companies, including 71 first-timers, represented on the trade show floor, where they set up shop for the three-day gathering.

The exhibitors occupied 468 booths.
