Just under 4 000 people attended the 15th Garten- & Zooevent in Kassel at the end of September. For the organisers this figure signifies a decline of 15 per cent in visitors to the show. One of the reasons cited by the two organisers, Sagaflor and Egesa-Zookauf, for the drop in attendance was the good weather.
Another potential distraction for visitors this year was posed by the plethora of in-house shows in the pet supplies trade in addition to Interzoo, according to a press release.
Nevertheless, Sagaflor and Egesa-Zookauf believe that the show underlined its claim to be a leading national fair. No national show has such cross-regional significance and pulling power for both sectors. It is also expected that the 2015 show will record a marked upturn in visitor numbers.
The 16th Garten- and Zooevent takes place in Kassel once again on 26 and 27 September 2015.
